Meet Our Founder

Behind every “we” on this page is one real person who lived this struggle first. Here is her story, in her own words.

Dr. Boyce, Founder & CEO, TypeMaster 202 — Level Up Academy Inc.

I did not build TypeMaster 202 because typing came easily to me. I built it because it did not.

I remember sitting at a keyboard, hunting for every letter, watching classmates and coworkers fly past me while I was still looking for the “D” key. Learning to type well was not natural for me — it took real practice, real patience, and real time. But once I built that speed, everything got easier. Emails took minutes instead of an hour. Assignments got done faster. I stopped dreading the keyboard and started using it without thinking about it at all.

Today I am a teacher, and I see the same struggle I once had playing out in my own classroom, every single day. My middle school students sit down to type an assignment and I watch them hunt and peck, one letter at a time, unsure of home row, unsure of where their fingers even belong. Many of them have never been taught the basics. Beyond typing itself, I watch them struggle with the everyday tools they will need for the rest of their lives — Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, the kind of digital skills that used to be optional and are now simply required.

Here is the truth I want every visitor to this site to understand: we cannot get away from this. Whether you are a student preparing for a timed test, a parent trying to help your child at the kitchen table, a teacher trying to reach thirty students with thirty different skill levels, or a professional trying to keep up in a job that runs entirely on a keyboard — typing and digital literacy are not optional skills anymore. They are life skills. They belong to everyone, at every age, in every walk of life.

That belief is why TypeMaster 202 exists. This website means the world to me because it was born out of a real need I lived through myself and now watch my own students live through every day. It is built to be global — a free resource that can reach a student in one country and a job seeker in another, a retired grandparent learning to type their first email and a professional trying to shave hours off their workweek, all through the same keyboard, the same lessons, the same starting point: zero cost, zero barriers.
